Of Course more in fees is very much welcome, However, not sure why Propertymark were NOT more voiceful against the government banning 'Tenant fees'? Very dissapointed in their stance! Pot & kettle comes to mind!

This is more so in London, where we work long hours, very few sales, so hardly any commission to be earned any more!! Another tell tale sign of how bad the market is in London, just hope Mr Johnson & co try and resurrect our Industry.

Not so sure Trevor, So if i spent £500,000 on modernising a run down property, improving it, I will have to pay SDLT on this when i sell, because the extra value I have added will be taxed, AGAIN!!!

Carney, has over the last several years stated that the BOE base rates were going to increase, scaremongering the public, from a man in his position is an appalling error of judgement. its only just increased!! I think he's got it wrong once again.

Great Article, i agree that stamp duty has to stay, but certainly NOT in it's current form. Osbourne was a complete fool to create an unworkable SDLT system. The government do not realise what the property industry brings to the UK economy as a rule. Activity in the buy to Let category in London has ground to a halt, sales of properties are extremely low. There would be NO embarrassment in doing a 'U' turn on this, we all make mistakes, enough is enough.

Dear George, your stamp duty reforms have created a complete 'melt Down' of the UK housing market, on top of which, you have devastated the 'But to Let' investment market. The amount of landlords ( Whom, remember provide accommodation to the private sector, when little, if any, is done by the government) who are now selling up, is quite frightening!! Your stamp duty policies were so badly thought out, i am embarrassed to be a Tory! London is a hub of wealth which stimulates a large part of the U.K. But you have completely stifled the London House market with your reforms, sales of properties within the M25 have hit an all time low. Thank you George.

well said. They have been hitting estate agents so unfairly for over the last 3 years, we really have to fight back. Where's NAEA & ARLA in all this? or should I say 'Property Mark'??

Since OTM have received £30m worth of funding, we have NOT heard anything from them regarding their NEW marketing plan??? They have NOT issued any statement whatsoever in relation to their strategy? I can only see this saga falling deeper into despair!!
