What makes you say the honeymoon is over when they are growing and the misleading adverts still aren't being regulated properties? I'd say it is far from over, whether we like it or not.

All I know is that I've spoken to less than 10 people outside of the industry that has ever heard of OTM. Obviously, everyone knows RM but the number of people in my area that use Z is very high too.

By the sounds of it, you won't be losing any business to online agents. I think these comments are more aimed at the agents that are sat back, complaining about why they are losing market share. Like yourself, I would expect the majority of agents who come on here are at the top of their game but there are so many that aren't. I recently had a competitor value a property in less than 10 minutes and scribble the asking price on the back of his business card. There are many of this standard of agent around.

How does a £500 deposit help them negotiate a massive down valuation or an HB survey that throws up way more than the buyer is willing to do? I'm all for buyer/seller commitment and think it is a great idea but they are getting 100% completion? 100% of what? 1, 10, 500 sales?

I've no beef with PB, personally, I think it will unravel soon as the LPE's are under a ridiculous amount of pressure to sell services they cannot cope with to deliver but time will tell. What I don't get is them taking umbrage with 'fake reviews' on AllAgent when so many of the Trustpilot are fake reviews from family & friends (as admitted to me by people that work there). You live by the sword you die by the sword.

How did you manage to turn that into an PB bashing? People on here talk about them more than they talk about themselves on LinkedIn, and that impressive - sort of.

To be fair I've never seen an eMoov TV advert but plenty of Housesimple ones, surely that's making more noise than anything else?

Average outstanding balance of £89,000 apparently on standard variables and trackers.

Fair play if he is completing on 10 houses a week just to fund himself. How much is he paying the 'honest mums'? Plus RM & Z subscriptions etc. They must be flying but there's just a little something that makes be think it is unsustainable. Great publicity though and the £550,000 should last a while.

Is it enough to qualify it in text at the bottom of the screen? What about partially sighted viewers, they would not have the ability to see the 'qualifying text' and just hear the spoken word. A non-accessible advert for all, which should have been taken into consideration.

So a guy who isn't selling his house has said he's not going to use a certain estate agent if he does ever sell his house. Righto.

I can only assume you are joking. PB are piling money in for them left right and centre, why would they want out?

At least they got a few nice days out. I for one cannot see what has been done so far apart from tearing in to Purple Bricks and demands my stuff they don't have any sway or right to demand. My £420 a year is better spent training a member of staff to be the best agent in the town so I don't have to worry about what other agents do. I suggest some of the founding members start looking closer to home too.

I can't help but think that the amount of effort these people are putting in to promote themselves and discredit others would be much better spent gaining market share in improving service levels. Maybe there is a great profit to be made from it?

Yes, and the ones that do go bust will blame PB while at the same time tell everyone that they are terrible. Focus on your own business, be the best agent in town.

I wonder how the staff will take it after being told for 2 years that 'hybrid' is nonsense, they are better than that and they will never go down that route? They have been trained/brainwashed sales pitches based around negativity of the online/hybrid model now they will be told it is the way forward!

'CEILA demands'. *inserts crying with laughter face* If the people behind this spent all the time they are spending engrossed with PB focusing on growing market share they wouldn't need to worry about PB.

What you just describes doesn't cover all agents by any stretch of the imagination. Some of the largest agencies in the country charge up front fees and only 50% of the agents in my area do accompanied viewings. What individual agents need to do is make sure that they do everything right, canvass well and have a clear strategy to maintain market share in their areas. Recently a few people on here have mentioned the idea of all agents 'clubbing together' to combat PB and it is laughable.

Your Move did one. According their marketing department it was an unmitigated disaster and a waste of millions of pounds.

How can you tell someone not to come on here just because they don't share the same opinion as you?

Embrace change, take the positives from other people's processes and evolve. PB actually do a lot over very good things, most of them pre-valuation but I bet a lot of the accusers could up their game a little there. They are smart enough to get their reviews done at point of instruction when sellers are obviously over the moon as they just signed a contract. I'd be interested to see the reviews after 12-16 weeks though. I know 2 very good estate agents who work for PB (I don't work there) but I also know 1 very bad agent who works for them. Similar to every agent in our town and the surrounding ones. Some of the claims they make are ridiculous but also some of the claims made on here by the usual names are equally ridiculous. It is funny though, no other EAT posts generate anywhere near as ,any comments as online agent posts.

The stamp duty changes have been wonderful for us agents in the North West and most of the country, saving the majority of buyers an absolute fortune. Long may it continue. As stated above, maybe London needs it's own rules.
