Leaders Romans Group announces first acquisition since private equity take-over

Leaders Romans Group, which is fast becoming one of the UK’s largest agencies, has acquired another firm.

It’s the first purchase of 2022 for Leaders Romans and the first since LRG was itself snapped up by Platinum Equity.

The Northfields agency, just acquired by LRG, is a four branch London firm with offices in Ealing, Ealing Broadway, Pitshanger and Shepherds Bush.

LRG says this move will strengthen its presence in London following the acquisition of Portico in October last year; it also adds to LRG’s existing ownership of Gibbs Gillespie in west London, Orchards in Ealing, and Thorgills in Brentford.

Matthew Light, group mergers and acquisitions director at LRG, comments: “We are thrilled to complete our first acquisition under Platinum’s ownership and look forward to welcoming the Northfields team to the LRG family. Following the acquisitions of Thorgills, Orchards and Portico last year, we continue to pursue our M&A strategy to service new areas, including the London region. Northfields is a fantastic success story of growth in a competitive market and their people-focussed ethos fits perfectly with that of LRG.”

Richard Palfreeman, chief executive officer at Northfields, adds: “Our recognised brand name made us an attractive prospect for buyers, but we chose to sell to LRG based on their strong reputation in the industry and ambitious growth plans. Their team have been a delight to work with and the whole process from start to finish has been completed very smoothly.”

LRG is now one of the UK’s largest property services groups, formed in 2016 by the merger of established brands Leaders, Romans and Boyer.

Backed by private equity firm Platinum Equity, it has a network of over 200 branches across the country and employs over 2,300 people.

LRG's services include residential sales, lettings, auctions, new homes, shared ownership, surveying, land and development, planning, business rates, insurance and mortgages.

What excellent news for Richard Palfreeman and his utterly brilliant team at Northfields. A fantastic acquisition for LRG.
I have had the privilege of working with Richard on the National Advisory Council of Relocation Agent Network and he has always been so supportive to me and my team.
Good luck ( not that you will need it! ) to everyone involved.

This is awful for the staff

Just one tale - I was looking at house through one of this corporates offices
I met the neg at his office - it was a very hot day about 30 degrees
He got in with a tie and jacket on
I said to him why not take that off
He asked if I minded and said it was co policy that male staff had to ALWAYS wear tie and jacket
    This was over 30 degrees
you think they will enjoy this ?
    They have huge staff turnover
