Hello and welcome to Property Jobs Today - our first for some weeks as the coverage has previously been dominated by Coronavirus. But it’s good to see the industry still recruiting for some key positions.

We start this week with expanding Midlands agency Nicol & Co which has appointed a new lettings manager.

Sarah Jenkins joined the agency, which has branches in Droitwich Spa and Worcester, following a short period of assisting the company in a consultancy role. She’s worked in property for 21 years and has previously headed lettings at two other independent firms in the region.

“What attracts me is the fact this is an independent company striving to be the best that it can be, never accepting a ‘can’t do’ attitude and really investing in their staff to ensure customers receive the best experience” explains Sarah.

There are new appointments too at Pick My Pad, part of the Mistoria group.

The firm’s new property manager is Lisa McNamara, who will manage the day to day operations with support from Istre Clemence, who will join as the branch administrator as soon as the Coronavirus situation allows.

Lisa has a background in residential and tourist properties, as well as HMOs, in Portugal and the UK. She has been managing properties for over 20 years.

Experienced branch manager Daniella Ryan moves to a new sales role and will work to expand the client and property portfolio. Their target is to grow their property management portfolio to 250 properties during 2020.

Several suppliers and PropTech firms have made new appointments despite the difficulties of recent weeks, too.

At Homesearch - soon scheduled to be launching a new portal - Rob Lapthorn and Carl Thomas, both with previous agency experience, have joined as business development managers, while Joshua Hewitt and Joshua Riglar start with the firm as business development executives.

Rentify, the tech enabled lettings and management platform, has appointed a new senior negotiator - it’s Elizabeth Woods who has joined from Knight Frank where she spent over seven years working in residential sales and lettings in a number of south west London offices.

“Rentify has shaken up the traditional high street agency world at a time when it needs it most. I’m excited to be a part of this dynamic and growing team as we continue on our journey to deliver the most compelling offer and quality of service for landlords and tenants alike” she says.

Canopy, which has a RentPassport offering, has announced Lee Power as its new head of partner development and Ethan Genende as head of operations.

Property Jobs Today - key appointments made during lockdown Lee joins from Zero Deposit where he was partner development manager; he’ll be responsible for developing the customer base at Canopy.

Ethan’s background is in Mergers and Acquisitions law and previously headed up operations at a pre-seed technology venture. He’ll be in charge of the running of business and customer service operations.

Finally room rental platform Badi announces a new hire, Nadine Piecha, who will lead a team on product improvement. Her past experience includes time at eBay where she was tasked with managing large-scale, international online surveys to monitor customer satisfaction and help the company focus on product areas that needed investment to enhance customer loyalty and improved customer retention.
