Emoov and Tepilo brands and technology 'have been bought'

Estate Agent Today understands from a respected source that the remains of the Emoov and Tepilo online agencies have been acquired by an individual buyer.

The parent firm, Emoov, went into administration on December 4.

The vendor listings had already been purchased in mid-December for an undisclosed sum by Pattinson Auctions, which works with around 1,000 partner agencies across the UK.

Now the rest of Emoov and Tepilo, including the brands and technology that supported their online services, have been acquired by a separate organisation.

The purchaser, who has not been named, has indirect connections with estate agency but is not believed to be an existing ‘major player’ in the industry.

It is not known how much has been paid for the brands, technology and remaining assets.

The administrators for Emoov and Tepilo - James Cowper Kreston - have been asked for comment.

    Why?
    What value the brands?
They had no traction to start with and following the farce of the last months before Mr Q ran off leaving staff vendors buyers landlords & tenants in the lurch the name is a joke, hope the buyer has deep pockets and broad shoulders!

Why not? building your own platform is time consuming and access to licenced online products are expensive. The buyer definitely has deep pockets; broad shoulders not required

Great investment. The technology behind eMoov, and the brands are not something you can just build up overnight.

Probably paid tuppence so no big risk. Not the £10 million Quirk said it was worth.
