Countrywide announces major reorganisation of Hamptons International

Countrywide has announced an extensive reorganisation of senior management at its Hamptons International brand - with a pledge to "reach into new areas."

Lesley Cairns, a former regional director and head of lettings, has been appointed as the agency’s managing director.

She has been at Hamptons since 2006 and in her new role will report to Jonathan Simpson, London managing director at Countrywide.

She says she aims to expand the agency’s footprint beyond its traditional patch of London and the south east. “In 2017, we set out a business plan to grow even more which will see us strengthen our existing network and extend our reach into new areas. As part of this business plan, we made the decision to restructure the sales division to better reflect our growth and to reward the individuals at the heart of our success” adds Cairns.

In other top-tier appointments Jon Pitt, previously a lettings regional director, has been promoted to head of lettings. He has worked at Hamptons for 12 years, most recently seconded to Countrywide as national director for corporate, PRS and Build to Rent.

The Sales division is being restructured with Mary Beeton, previously a London regional director, promoted to head of sales in London. Peter Everett, previously a regional director in the Home Counties, has been named head of sales for the country market. Both Beeton and Everett will report to Cairns.

There are also three new regional sale directors - two from within Hamptons International and one, Richard Broer, formerly of Douglas and Gordon.

Reporting into Peter Everett are the existing regional directors covering western England, southern England and the south east.

Joanna Cocking has been named to lead Hamptons International’s prime and country house division.
