Conveyancers take a bow at first ESTAS awards for the sector

Three hundred of the UK’s top conveyancers have celebrated the success of the industry at the first ever ESTAS Conveyancer Awards.

The event, sponsored by SearchFlow and held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane, celebrated winners after the results of over 5,000 customer surveys were revealed.

"The conveyancing sector doesn’t get enough credit for the work it does with millions of homeowners around the UK helping to make their dreams come true and at The ESTAS we want to highlight that fact” the audience heard host Phil Spencer say.

Fletcher Longstaff Property Lawyers, based in Lincoln walked away with the Grand Prix award as the Best Single Office in the UK.

The Best Local Group award went to Kent based firm Boys & Maughan while the gold for best regional firm was presented to Birchall Blackburn from Manchester.

Countrywide took the Best National Group title with Convey Law winning the silver.

Simon Brown, founder of The ESTAS Group - which also recognises estate agents and mortgage advisors - told the audience: “It’s clear that the conveyancing sector is ready for this type of feedback platform and award scheme. We live in a world where the consumer decision making process is influenced more and more by customer reviews.”

He continued: “So The ESTAS provides a kite mark of excellent service for any property professional involved in the home moving process. Just taking part sends a clear message to clients and competitors that a firm is serious about delivering great service and prepared to prove it”.

The awards also recognised individual brilliance and three 'highly commended' people awards were given to Jade Campbell from Lester Campbell in Yorkshire, Johanna Heane from Coodes in Newquay and Elizabeth Thomson from Boys & Maughan in Canterbury.

Brown also announced the launch of a new category for suppliers, saying: “They design, develop and deliver tools that enable firms to create a great customer experience, it’s therefore only right that The ESTAS recognises their excellence”.

Suppliers taking part will be rated on the levels of service they deliver by their own conveyancing firm clients.
