New search engine fees 'cheaper for agents than Rightmove or Zoopla'

An online search engine claims it will allow estate agents to “make significant cost savings in advertising portal fees” with the use of its tool and accompanying services.

The brothers who have created Proptyle claim agents currently spend almost £1,000 per month per branch for the combined use of Rightmove and Zoopla and this it allows agents to ”eliminate” this cost while nonetheless benefitting from direct lead generation and increased traffic to their websites.

The search engine also claims to provide “accurate, real time information about residential and commercial property across more postcodes than the two leading property portals.”

Proptyle says it offers two optional paying services to agents who have registered.

The ‘statistics’ service is £30 per month per registration which includes sending emails to agents on a periodic basis about click statistics and daily property inventory refresh emails. It also offers the ability for agents to set up featured properties at an additional £30 per week per featured property.

It says these subscriptions are pay as you go with no binding contract.

Yash Patel, one of the website’s founders, says: “My brother and I spotted a gap in the market for a cost effective property search tool that offers unbiased, comprehensive and real time coverage of the market as a whole. The problem with the current market leaders in this space is not only the substantial cost for using their services (which agents are finding increasingly unpalatable) but also the fact that they do not offer the flexible service that agents crave.”

Patel also claims that agents can “dramatically cut administrative staff costs” because  listings would be automatically uploaded and managed on their behalf.

“Proptyle is designed to operate as a ‘pay as you go’ service where agents retain a greater element of control over their spending by opting for services on a need by need basis.

“They can access all the features they currently enjoy free of charge as well as many of the additional benefits of our unique offering, paying only for the elements of service they require. We believe proptyle presents a real solution to many current market challenges and are confident in the extensive capabilities of our unique offering” claims Patel.

**Marketing jargon alert: "a cost effective property search tool that offers unbiased, comprehensive and real time coverage of the market as a whole"

Also - £30 a month for subscription to a site no one is looking at could actually be deemed as quite expensive...

Worryingly low fees- no way they will get any real tractions or put themselves in front of enough users to drive the traffic agents need. When you consider what RM & ZPG deliver I actually still think they are very good value for money. All too often we see these products targetted at agents created by companies who dont really understand agents. Every Portal/PropTech start-up should have at least 1 expereienced industry member on board for industry guidance and insight. This isnt that dis-similar to PropertyIndex which started off well but, as always, after the first 3-6 months of hype, quickly shrank thereafter.

Do any of these sites think about their branding? Like Tepilo it wont ever make a big success because the branding is apalling

This is not inexpensive. £30 pm for stats = ok, but £30 per week per property?
If you have 30 properties (sales & rentals) that comes to £900 per week!

£30.00 per week is for featured advert which will appear at the top of the search results in a postcode/address search. This is very similar to google adwords. As far as we understand this cost is an order of magnitude lower than leading portals. Normal listings are still free of cost.
