Agents urged not to miss bank holiday ‘prospecting goldmine’

Agents could be giving up a “prospecting goldmine” if they effectively shut-up shop on their marketing in the run up to the latest UK bank holiday.

Analysis by estate agency prospecting software provider Spectre has found 23% fewer letters are sent in the days leading up to a bank holiday by UK agents and lead to double the amount of conversions.

With agents usually battling for homemovers’ attention, the upcoming bank holidays provide an excellent opportunity for agents to engage a captive audience, Spectre said.

Ahead of the busy summer market, homeowners either on the market or thinking of moving are likely to be off work, at home and considering the options available to them, the proptech firm said.

Heather Staff, co-founder at Spectre, added: “Seasonality affects the property market in a number of ways, so it’s incredibly insightful to see this latest trend in the data.

“Agents should make the most of this insight and consider what marketing and prospecting efforts they are undertaking in the run-up to May’s multiple bank holidays.

“Marketing budgets can be tight, so this chance to maximise the potential of your marketing activities should be cherished.”
