eXp launches referral network for agents to share sellers

Agency brand eXp UK has launched a new network referral programme for its self-employed agents to earn extra commission by sending and receiving referrals of potential sellers across its network of 350 agents across the UK.

The scheme, which has already generated more than £100,000 of potential commission since launching in October, comes as the self-employed agency revealed it has grown instruction numbers by 58% in 2022.

Adam Day, estate agency growth leader at eXp UK, said: “Even since the last data run in May, we’ve continued to grow and we estimate that we are within the top 15 of estate agency businesses in the UK for instructions and sales. eXp UK’s growth trajectory has stayed firmly on course as the popularity for the self-employed, business-owner model continues to soar.

“Our new network referral is one of the first of this scale in the UK. It will ensure increased collaboration amongst our network of experienced agents and will yield increased profit for all involved.

“I predict that we will see agents generating tens of thousands in extra revenue across the network over the next few years through this tool.

“What this does, is allow us to further add value to not only our agent’s customers who will be getting a great service, but also our network of agents. With over 350 agents around the country all looking out for each other, agents could potentially build a business with eXp UK through referrals alone.

“This is yet another example of how the eXp UK business model continues to evolve to ensure our agents remain ahead of the game, equipped with the right level of autonomy and support to allow their businesses to flourish.”

For a commission to be earned a seller has to be charged. Is this at an increased cost to the seller or a division of fees between referring agents? The point being one increases revenue and the other doesn't.
