Reviews site reveals worst-rated agencies - and it's not just Purplebricks

AllAgents has revealed the 10 worst rated agency brands on its customer review platform, with Purplebricks leading the worst performers.

The reviews website put a release out late on Sunday that named Purplebricks as the worst property firm for customer experience over the past 12 months.

Estate Agent Today was keen to put this in context and add some balance so we asked for more information on the 10 worst performing agency brands rather than just focusing on one.

Purplebricks, which has previously clashed with allAgents, has the worst rating with a score of 1.2 stars out of five from 438 reviews.

The list of the 10 worst performers - rated just one star by clients - features a mix of high street and online brands including Chancellors and OpenRent.

Complaints range from prospective buyers being annoyed about old listings that are no longer available, sellers unhappy about poor communication and disgruntled landlords and tenants.

AllAgents boss Martin McKenzie said: “In our view, Purplebricks has to improve on their customer satisfaction rates if it hopes to once again increase their market share.

“It is known for promoting their countless glowing five-star reviews on TrustPilot, as well as closed review platform Feefo, however, will regularly avoid any mention of their one-star review status on allAgents, the UK's largest property review website.

“Purplebricks has to be more open and transparent about the company’s past failings, such as their failure to register tenant deposits and why there is such a disparity in ratings.”

McKenzie added that he cautiously welcomes the brand’s change of leadership and looks forward to seeing the fresh new direction under recently appointed chief executive Helena Marston.

He said: “Perhaps then Purplebricks can be recognised as one of the UK's highest performing property companies for customer experience.”

Needs some publicity as all the advertising that purplebricks do on TV is what the public see. Potential vendors and Landlords only see the company advertising as the bad publicity is hidden. My son had the misfortunate of renting through Chancellors in Oxford - unfortunately for them when they tried to charge £1,500 at the end of the tenancy - I actually took them to task and they failed but I am the exception most people just pay - and most LL do not realise just how much theses corporates rip the LL off.
