One of the men behind the defunct Emoov online estate agency has re-emerged as the head of a marketing service.
The service charges from £10 a day and describes itself as “a low-cost marketing agency for local service companies including Estate Agents, Car Dealers, Venues, Tradesmen and Beauticians.”
Stephen Jury was in charge of marketing at the ‘old’ Emoov when Russell Quirk, its founder, ran the operation: that incarnation of Emoov went into administration at the end of 2018 after failing to secure promised funding, despite raising around £2m in a crowdfunding exercise earlier that year.
(The Emoov name has subsequently been taken by an online agency under separate ownership and unconnected with the previous company.)
Now Jury has returned to the spotlight as head of a new marketing service which says it can work for agents and car dealers, amongst others.
It offers Facebook and Google marketing campaigns from £10 a day and claims up to 79 per cent of estate agents do not have a Facebook pixel on their website.
“This will hamper an estate agent from running Facebook campaigns retargeting people which have visited their website with adverts” says the launch statement for the company, called Tenner.
He goes on to claim that a further 27 per cent of agent websites do not have a Google Analytics tag, so are unlikely to be able to see any traffic numbers or performance data.
Jury comments: “It is harsh to see so many agents getting muscled out of effective online marketing by Rightmove. With the ever-increasing fees to the portals and new ones launching, I’m sure Facebook advertising is seen as a non-essential cost to some. I enjoy proving Facebook is a great source of sales leads, over and over again.
“So many agents we speak to want to launch Facebook or Google campaigns, but do not have the time or expertise in their team. But estate agents now have an option to run marketing campaigns for just a tenner.”
Jury’s publicity cites agent Victor Bryan, of Bryan Maher & Co - a north London firm - commenting: “Within three days of launching [on Facebook] we had a valuation lead via Facebook for a six bedroom home and we will be hopefully listing it within the next three weeks.”
