Tragedy as widely-respected property campaigner dies suddenly

The death has been announced of one of the country’s leading campaigners against the injustices of the leasehold system, Louie Burns.

Burns was managing director of Leasehold Solutions, a family-run service which managed leasehold extensions and encouraged leaseholders to take control by extending or buying their freeholds.

Tragedy as widely-respected property campaigner dies suddenlyThe company was set up in 2002 and Burns had been a fierce critic of abuses of the leasehold system; in recent years he was a frequent interviewee on radio and TV, and was quoted extensively in the industry press.

A tweet from the organisation last evening said: “We’re devastated to share news that our MD, colleague and dear friend Louie Burns passed away suddenly today.

“We need to process this shocking news and will post more in days to come; know that we will continue to fight the fight for leaseholders in Louie’s name. RIP Louie - legend.”

Estate Agent Today extends its condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
