A Scottish estate agency has changed its website following a complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority.
The complaint relates to West Property Scotland Ltd and its website and Facebook post for West Property Sales & Lettings
The website featured the claim "We are the No.1 Selling Agent for our area according to Rightmove” and the Facebook page stated "West...No.1 Out of 19 Offices according to Rightmove. SALES AGREED FOR THE LAST 12 MONTHS”.
Fiuran Property challenged whether the ads were misleading and could be substantiated and whether the ads were verifiable.
After intervention by the ASA, the agency removed the claims in question and provided assurance that its future comparative claims would present “sufficient qualifying information and [would] also be made verifiable” according to the authority.
