BrightSale, the online estate agent now part-owned by Manchester-based agents Thornley Groves, has added a sales progression tool to its site.

It allows buyers and sellers of property to follow all aspects of their transaction, in real time, through a unique personal control panel.

BrightSale is thought to be on the brink of announcing deals with other ‘bricks and mortar’ agents after last week’s deal with Thornley Groves, which now lists all its properties on BrightSale. If Thornley Groves negotiates the sale, it claims its usual fee; if BrightSale achieves the deal, then Thornley Groves still claims 1.5% commission but passes 0.5% of it over to BrightSale.

Andy Etches, managing director of BrightSale, said: “For the first time, BrightSale clients will have real time information on every aspect of their sale. This will of course raise the bar dramatically in terms of what we expect from our agents, as any unnecessary delay or inaccuracies will be immediately apparent. But we believe some traditional agents and solicitors have got away with shoddy and tardy service, and it is time the customer has full insight into what is happening with their sales.

“This tool will go a long way to achieving that, and we hope also to be making the process of buying and selling a little easier and more pleasant.”

plus i just can't understand what is in it for Thronley Groves - they have incured the expense of acquiring these instructions and they are giving away 0.5% to brightsale - but for what - surely TG are on all the property websites that BS list on (i note BS don't list on rightmove even) very confused - but then I am easily confused

can do better surely - great - an online tool that shows clients: 0 viewings, o offers, 0 email enquiries, 0 tel enquiries... really need something more relevant to the issues sellers face at this challenging time - not a pretty online page showing "nothing happening" - just my thoughts
