A new global for-sale-by-owner website has launched in the EU.

Private vendors and landlords will be able to use the site free, and be able to list their properties to potential buyers and tenants anywhere in the world.

www.owner-direct.eu is an off-shoot of a site originally launched in the US, where agents routinely charge up to 10% in commission.

Ian Goodfellow, founder of Owner-Direct.eu, says: “The current market conditions are forcing buyers, sellers and renters to look beyond the traditional agent route to more cost-effective ways to achieve the right price, without incurring hefty commission charges.”

Property owners receive a free advert listing on the site, which includes up to 25 images, a slideshow on the property, links to the owner’s website if applicable, a rental availability calendar and spam-free direct contact details.

The new website will feature not only houses, but also boats, cabins, motor homes and caravans, in a choice of different languages.

Yep, they'll also see how we earn our cash when they get the purchaser from hell.

Another load of rubbish. Everyone thinks we just put it on the market and wait for a call. However, this site is good for us, as it will be easy pickings from private ads. The vendors will soon realise that they will have to leave it to the professionals.
