Property portal Movehut – which sets out to be the Rightmove of the commercial property world – has appointed a new chairman.
Corporate lawyer Michael Cuthbert replaces former Countrywide boss Harry Hill in the role.
Hill, who was said to have been sacked from Movehut in August, founded Rightmove, and quit at the same time as Movehut’s chief executive Justin Bates. The circumstances were not explained and the departures must have come at a difficult time for the company, which plans to float on the stock market by the end of this year.
This week, the appointment of Cuthbert, a former managing partner of Clifford Chance, was announced as the company said it expected further senior appointments to be announced shortly.
It stressed: “The company is continuing to progress its plans for a listing, which it expects to complete before the end of 2013.”
Movehut claims to be the largest commercial property website in the UK. With over 104,000 listings, Movehut is the fastest growing site of its kind and offers visitors a simple, user-friendly way to view property to buy, rent, auction and invest in.

Don't know the guy. But at the end of the day he's one of the 'best' known people in the property world - been at it since pussy was a kitten and held some big positions so I have to presume he's not a numpty.

MoveHut site seems good and quite prominent on google searches where most other commercial property sites are so hard to find - going to give it a try for our commercial properties
