Special needs children have started their school year with a new coach, donated by London and Kent agents Robinson Jackson.

It is the 27th Sunshine Coach handed over by Robinson Jackson in as many years. It is also the second coach to be given by the firm to Drumbeat School and ASD Service, a special school and sixth form in Lewisham, south-east London.

The latest coach was handed over to school head Dr Vivian Hinchcliffe at one of the Variety Club Golf Society’s annual golf events – where a selection of the school’s pupils and staff got to mingle with celebrities including team captain and actor Kevin Whately.

Alan Robinson, founder of the agents, said: “Our staunch support of the charity has enabled us to donate a Sunshine Coach every year for the last 27 years.

“What we like best about the Variety Club is the ability to donate a coach to a local school within the communities we operate. This is the second vehicle we’ve been able to donate to Drumbeat School and we know it will be well used.

“Drumbeat School’s work with children on the autistic spectrum is marvellous, and to know we have played a small part in enriching the lives of the schoolchildren is very uplifting for us all.

“I’m sure our staff at our Sydenham, Lewisham and Catford branches will look out for the new coach when they are out meeting clients. It’s a great reminder that giving something back to the communities in which we work really makes a difference.”
