Metropix has produced its four millionth floor plan.

Sandersons Estate and Letting Agent, which operates three offices across the South-East, was the team to produce the landmark plan for a three-bedroom instruction in Canterbury.

Chris Murphy (pictured), area manager for Sandersons, said: “We have been working with Metropix for three years. A major emphasis of what we are about as agents is on the way our properties are presented when marketed for sale or rent.

“In our view, floor plans are a vital tool, and we believe that if high-quality photos and floor plans are not at someone’s fingertips when browsing, it is easy for them to overlook a property and move on to the next.

“We use personalised 2D plans on all our sales and rental instructions, which gives us a unique selling point, and advantage over other agents who choose not to use these.”

Brian Farrell, director of Metropix, said: “I would like to extend my thanks to all clients for helping us reach this momentous milestone of 4,000,000 floor plans, including the team at Sandersons in Kent.

“It is a major testament to the power of floor plans and goes to show just how popular they have become by agents and prospective buyers and tenants.

“In fact, we have calculated that on average, over four floor plans are now created using Metropix every minute of every working day.”

The landmark four millionth floor plan is pictured. Okay, it’s seemingly not that exciting, but it’s still rather special. Not so long ago, we were reporting a big North/South divide in the use of floor plans, but now they are surely universal.

And after all, there was a time when property details had no photos, never mind floor plans, mapping, EPCs (don’t get us started), let alone local crime rates and school league tables. However, the room measurements were spot on, and the adjectives were great, particularly when they described the sanitaryware. Many agents will still have these (the details, hopefully not the sanitaryware) in their archives.
