I called, they weren’t there, somebody took a message, I missed the call back (because I work), I tried again at 5:30. I got voicemail. Tomorrow it starts again

This report came from a vendor with an attractive £250k property to sell, she’d been on the market for almost six months, had lots of viewings but little specific feedback, and eventually ditched her agent.

For the agent, this situation is a nightmare. You know the location is reasonably priced and in a great location, but “buyers” are often not proceedable, or just kicking the tyres. And when you try to follow up with those that have the funds and the intent, you end up playing voicemail tennis and everybody ends up frustrated. Sound familiar?

The truth is it takes longer than you’d like to complete sales because you can only be in one place at a time.

This doesn’t happen to Lee

Lee Raymond, Director of New Move, found with some simple changes to the way he works and some surprisingly low cost phone technology from Gradwell, (actually lower cost than the landlines he used to use), he could seem like he was everywhere at once.

The result? More instructions, faster completions and less stress. Here’s how.

If everyone is out for valuations or viewings, Lee and his team are all able to answer the branch phone number on their mobiles.

If a New Move agent is expecting an offer but they’re out of the branch, they can forward just calls from the buyer’s specific phone number to the agents mobile so no time gets wasted in sharing offers with vendors.

New move agents get their voicemails delivered to their email inbox. This means they can listen to them on their mobiles when they’re sat in the car, waiting for buyers to show up for a viewing, and if they need to quickly delegate, they can forward the entire message (adding their own notes if they need to) to an available colleague by email.

All small, simple steps that mean New Move is able to connect vendors and buyers quicker than the competition.

Is new move using an expensive, technical phone system?

No. New move uses Gradwell business phone services (called hosted VoIP if you really want to talk tech). It’s easy to set up (Gradwell helps if you need it), costs £8 a month rental, and Lee calculates his agency even saves 25% on its phone bill.
