Metropix, a supplier of floorplan-based products to the residential estate agency market, has announced a special promotion to encourage estate agents to try its service for free.

It is offering all new customers who try the service between now and the end of the year, free floorplans.

The offer is valid on all 2D self-draw plans and includes the usual offer of being able to upgrade for free to 3D shading, colour and/or PicturePlus interactive plans.

Existing customers are also receiving a special loyalty promotion, whereby 3D Floor Plans will be available for just 99p each throughout December, which represents a saving of £59 for a standard account user.

Brian Farrell, director of Metropix, said: “We have introduced the special December offers to not only encourage agents who may not be using floorplans to try the service for size and understand how they might benefit from them, but also to say thank you to our existing customers by giving them the opportunity to try 3D floorplans for less than £1 each.”

Lost income from good Metropix advertising has stung me!

What Metropix don’t tell you is that if you only take on 4 properties per month each plan costs £9.38+vat and you still need to sketch the plan and draw the plan on Metropix!

This is because you lose your credits each month if not used. Metropix advertise prices which are only achieved if you take on 20 new properties per month! My office is not achieving this many instructions and wont during December!

Plus it takes my staff around 30 minutes at the property to sketch the plan and 30-40 minutes back at the office to draw the plans on Metropix!

Add around £15 wage to the £9 plan cost and the resulting fee is far from the Metropix advertised fee ~£24 per plan!

I have not even started on the opportunity cost lost for my staff wasting their time drawing floor plans and not selling more properties.
