A new sales and lettings training company based in the North-East is offering funded, nationally recognised property-based qualifications.

Rookwood Training is run by managing director Charlotte Campbell, who has over 20 years’ experience in sales and lettings, including stints at Knight Frank and Vebra, the software supplier.

Rookwood Training is working in partnership with Hartlepool College and has already successfully delivered sales and lettings qualifications for a large independent estate agent in the North-East.

It is now looking to expand throughout the region and into Yorkshire.

The training courses available include ABBE Level 2 and 3 Certificate in Property covering either Residential Property Letting & Management, or Sale of Residential Property.
 
The company is also looking for estate agents and letting agents to take on young apprentices.

Campbell said that a motivated young apprentice can often be a great addition to the sales team at initially low salary.

She added: “I am very much looking forward to the business expanding in 2012. 

“There has never been a more important time to invest in the quality of staff in the current difficult property market, and provide home owners with a first-class service with excellent customer care skills.”

    Just out of front line sales since November! Current and relevant training. However my opinion is that the basis aren't done well. I hark back to the last recession not the good times!

    I think training and re-training are important processes within any profession. It helps foster 'communities of practice' within the profession.

    When we compare real estate to other professional services such as law, actuarial services or accountancy, it is clear that attainment of qualifications is important for i) the knowledge and understanding, ii) to demonstrate to clients of the high standards to which our profession aspires.

    I agree you don't need to pay for educated staff when negotiators just have to upload properties to portals and handle an offer if one comes in.
    Most negs these days rely on the portals doing the matching for them so I guess Charlotte can show how to get a high score on Tetris or get really good at Brawl Busters (Project Plan B)

    It would be great if she knows the DDN of the Vebra support Team that is always better than waiting for a call back and it is national rate number rather than premium rate.

    So how long has CC been out of the front line of sales and letting because it has changed over the last couple of years and she may be living the outdated dream!

    Nice to have a bit of paper says you have been through a training process but all this does is show that the holder has short term retension of information and yet there is nothing like hands on experience. I dont want a college grad here as they just will have no idea about the real world.

    People go to school, then college, then university and then get bits of thick paper with lovely printed coats of arms and a statement that says they can do this that and the other when in reality they ar grown up school kids with no idea about the real world and know diddley squat.
