Video – Homesearch portal: will it be ‘the future of the industry’?

In a video interview for Estate Agent Today, property professional Chris Buckler speaks to Sam Hunter, director of Homesearch.

Alongside asking Hunter for a random fact about himself, Buckler poses some key questions about why Homesearch’s new portal is unique and how it is aiming to help agents.

Hunter explains how the Homesearch portal will be a consumer-facing interface for all the data it currently has in its backend - the supplier reportedly has information on Britain's entire 29 million housing stock.

He adds that he hopes the new portal - which launches on May 25 and has received interest from over 2,500 agents - will give the agent a chance to see more insight on what is happening in their local market and who is searching for properties.

The PropTech boss says that for the first time in 20 years, agents now have a choice on the portals they want to use and are in a position to understand the value they get from portals, CRM systems and other suppliers.

    Just like OTM was!
    Data well Zoopla have tons
    Rightmove greedy shareholders underinvested.
So can Zoopla become number one.
    Perhaps a newcomer number two.
Let's face if you are not number one or two you are not relevant.

The Property Portal wars rage and with agents having until the end of June to decide on staying or going from Rightmove is it a straight choice anyway? Will portals give way to portal / platforms can a 2001 portal model survive another 20 years? Unlikely Proptech-PR.com
