UK agent closes his company to become a wrestler in Mexico

A UK estate agent has shut his business to pursue a new career – as a wrester in Mexico.

Callum Aslantepe, 29 and from Swindon, is an agent who worked at the Atwell Martin and Richard James agencies before co-founding Aslan Real Estate in Swindon in 2022.

But he wound down the business at the end of 2025 to work at what he calls his dream job – a lucha libre wrestler in Mexico, where he now lives permanently.

Callum tells the BBC: “It’s a huge part of the culture here. For an average show in the UK we’d get maybe 300 people on a good night, in Mexico we’re talking thousands of fans.”

As a child he attended a Swindon training school run by 4FW, now called British Kingdom Pro Wrestling.

After 10 years in estate agency he returned to wrestling and started touring parts of the UK with the wrestling company.

“We’d frequently be working Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays – so a gruelling weekend and lots of travel – but wherever I’m wrestling, I’m happy.”

His character as a Mexican wrestler is defined as a ‘rudo’ – a flamboyant performer who bends the rules.

Callum “adds: “I grew up watching wrestling and always favoured the bad guys and it’s a lot easier to get somebody to not like you.

“Prince Phoenix is a cool guy but I wouldn’t get on his bad side.”
