The PROPs celebrate the outstanding successes of businesses and individuals in the industry, while raising funds to support disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the region.

Taking place at the Hilton Hotel, Deansgate on October 10, the awards raised more than £220,000 and four Sunshine Coaches for Variety, the Children’s Charity in 2023, following donations from Home Bargains founder Tom Morris, George Downing, Chairman of the Downing Group and Marc Goldberg, CEO of Together.

Nominations can be made via the Variety Website and span a wide range of categories including: the Rising Star Award, Agent of the Year, Sustainability Award and Property Deal of the Year.

Last year's recipients included outstanding property businesses and individuals such as: Network Space Developments, Ask Real Estate, Onside Youth Zones and Agent of the Year Anthony Mellor of B8RE.

Lyn Staunton, development director at Variety, said: “Last year was a huge success, and we look forward to celebrating the best of the best across the region in property, while also raising money to help support disabled and disadvantaged children in the North West.

“Entrants can nominate their colleagues, their peers, their clients or even themselves. We would just encourage as many people as possible to get involved and help us showcase the amazing achievements of this region’s property professionals.”

Backing for the awards has already seen support from Kingmoor Park Properties and Together who have been secured as the headline sponsors for the event.

Barratt Homes: Housebuilder Barratt Homes is supporting Sevenoaks charity Friends for Families with a £1,500 donation.

Founded in 2018, Friends for Families is a small charity operating in the Sevenoaks area, whose mission is to provide support to families facing any financial hardship.

As part of its Community Fund Initiative, Barratt Kent is supporting Friends for Families with a donation which will continue to uphold the charity’s dedicated efforts for 2024.

The funds will help to provide practical assistance to families in need, including essential white goods and furniture, clothes for children, and groceries – with a wider aim to improve opportunities for children in later life.

Natalie Perry, sales and marketing director for Barratt Kent, said: “No child should be missing out on opportunities and things most take for granted, and it is through the persistent efforts of charities like Friends for Families who stand as a pillar of support for all. One of our principles is building strong community relationships, and as a business whose Head Office is in Sundridge, Kent, we are so honoured to support a local charity who is making all the difference within the community.”

Claire Davison, from Friends for Families, added: “Our mission is to support disadvantaged local families and to give their children a chance to thrive. We work with organisations and individuals within the local community to ensure that families know that they matter to their neighbours: isolation is so often a feature of poverty, and we want the children and their parents to know that the community cares about them.

“We are so grateful for Barratt Kent’s support: the help of local organisations makes a huge difference to our ability to provide this vital support for families in need. If anyone would like to know more about our work do please visit our website www.friendsforfamilies.org and contact us if you’d like to support us.”

The donation to Friends for Families charity was made as part of The Barratt Foundation’s Community Fund initiative, which sees the housebuilder donate £1,500 each month to a local charity to improve the quality of life for those living in the local area.
