Gascoigne Halman branch manager hits 40-year milestone

Gascoigne Halman branch manager Andrew Hayes is celebrating reaching 40 years in estate agency.

Hayes discovered estate agency thanks to his father finding him a summer job while he was at college.

His career started in 1983 when simply getting a property listed for sale could take weeks. Camera film rolls had to be physically sent off for processing in a lab and a simple particulars brochure could take weeks to produce and print.

Four decades and some 6,000 house sales later, Hayes said he is thankful for the efficiencies new technology has brought to the industry.

He said: “The way we initially search for homes to rent or buy online has fundamentally changed but it is far swifter now to get a property listed for clients.

“But people do still like to talk to estate agents and the local knowledge we possess combined with our industry expertise has ensured our role remains invaluable.

“We often speak to potential buyers who have ruled out a property based on an online search but then decide to make a physical viewing when we have the chance to discuss it in more detail. Some buyers then proceed with purchasing a property they initially discounted, so our role as a property matchmaker really can be crucial.”

His commitment to the market town of Frodsham, where he was given his first break into the industry remains unwavering.

Hayes added: “We’ve had a really busy start to the year in Frodsham.

“Indeed, our first quarter has surpassed 2022. People are keen to get moving and even more so now the weather is warming up and evenings becoming longer. Frodsham really comes into its own from spring onwards.

“It’s a hugely popular location for weekend visitors and walkers and easy to see why so many people choose to make this lovely town their permanent home. We’ve got a great choice of properties to rent and buy on our books at present so please pop in and discover all Frodsham has to offer.”

John Halman, executive chairman of Gascoigne Halman, added: “We are delighted to be celebrating Andrew’s 40-year anniversary.

“His commitment to estate agency and, in particular, the Gascoigne Halman team is incredible. Andrew has successfully grown Frodsham into a ten strong team and he is hugely valued by all his colleagues for the commitment, enthusiasm and leadership that he brings to his role.

“Andrew is a much-respected member of the Frodsham community, having worked with many local families on multiple house purchases and sales over the years. He’s a real asset to the town and we just hope we can keep him for the next 40 years.”
