Singing estate agent goes viral with musical marketing

Agents have plenty of ways to market properties, from pictures to 3D tours and videos but few, thankfully, have tried their hands at singing.

Keller Williams agent Claire Cossey, who runs Just-Knock in Leighton Buzzard, appears to have noted a musical gap in the market and has taken to writing songs about her vendor properties, even going viral in the process.

Her latest video gained thousands of hits on social media and several broadcast interviews after she turned the theme tune of The NeverEnding story to the “never ending property” to help sell a £700,000 five-bed house on her books.

The video, posted on YouTube and included in the property’s Rightmove and Zoopla listing, shows Cossey, a former singer, walking around the property and melodically pointing out its features such as triple glazing and long ceiling beams.

It also features a built-in dog grooming parlour, so there is plenty to write about.

Her video and the listing has been shared multiple times on social media, with users either cringing or praising the work.

The property has actually been on the market since September 2022 so hopefully this gives it an extra push.

She told BBC News, "I'm not on social media so it's all been a bit overwhelming.

"But whatever has happened, the house is certainly getting seen as it's gone viral."

Estate Agent Today has queried if it has attracted any viewings or offers yet.

Keller Williams agents seem intent on greater visibility. Does it benefit them, or the client?
Viral posts on TikTok and other social media demonstrate reach, but it's never the case that the more people who see a listing, the greater the likelihood of a sale.
Getting the right people to view is essential. It doesn't matter if a million people all over the world see the exposure and like it - what matters is that a very small number of buyers are influenced enough to engage. Those buyers traditionally come from within the community.

    Totally Agree

This is a great gimmick and is certainly different.
I think doing this as a one off will bring the agent plenty of followers and grow their social media, however if she was to do this for every house it would soon lose its appeal.
Its great fun but by the end of the first minute it had become too much for me and I really wanted to end the video.
For me it would soon be "oh god not another singing video" let's just see the house.
At a time where higher end properties are taking longer to sell, you need to make sure that your agent has selling skills, i.e can they close a sale. Are they able to get you the price you are hoping for or able to attract international or at least buyers from a wider area.
Many of my properties have attracted a whole host of viewings, only to find that there are two or three serious buyers. Hours of viewings to find that one serious buyer.
This looks like a great property, but the video quality doesn't for me show the lifestyle element at it's best.
Several areas of this property aren't showcased at their best and I would have left them out of the video.
Staging a property like this is key and I feel that there are several rooms that let this property down.
I am not taking anything away from the creativity of Claire Cossey as I can see the effort that has been made here.

But is this going to lead to a full album or a one hit wonder?

This property has been stuck on the market since September 22 and I can see why she has done it.
I wish Claire all the very best with the sale of this home. I would be interested to see whether Claire's effort has aded any mandatory value to this sale...
