Roger Barrett, Connells Group’s Land & New Homes managing director, is celebrating an impressive 40 years with the business.
Since joining Connells as a sales negotiator in 1983, he has enjoyed a varied career including becoming a land director in 1989, promoted to the Connells residential board in 2008 and taking responsibility for the group’s Land & New Homes operation in 2019.
Barrett said: “When I walked into Connells in February 1983 to start my first job, I had no idea at the time what an opportunity it was or where it would take me.
“I realised from the outset that Connells is primarily a people business, and if you take every opportunity you are given, then a fantastic career can lie ahead.
“Fast forward 40 years, and I now oversee the entire land and new homes operation for Connells, Sequence, Countrywide, Hamptons and John D. Wood & Co – that’s quite some progression.”
David Plumtree, chief executive, estate agency, for the Connells Group, added: “This is an outstanding milestone for Roger and a perfect example of the boundless opportunities for career progression here at Connells Group.
