Agents Do Charity - strong foundations

Fine & Country Foundation: The Fine & Country Foundation is has revealed the 23 charities which will be allocated funding across 24 projects in its most recent round of grants in 2023, totalling £47,220.

The Foundation's grant programme is dedicated to offering financial assistance to non-profit organisations, focusing specifically on supporting charities in the UK and abroad in the ongoing battle against homelessness and poverty. 

Grants are distributed biannually, in Spring and Autumn, with Fine & Country offices worldwide encouraged to submit applications, nominating a charity for a donation of up to £3,000. 
Jon Cooke, trustee of the Fine & Country Foundation, said: “The Foundation's ability to support numerous charities and non-profit organisations is attributed to the network's fundraising endeavours and generous donations received.

“These grants are a lifeline for organisations heavily reliant on funding, especially during the challenging period leading up to Christmas.”

With the network's ongoing support, the Fine & Country Foundation has already contributed more than £900,000 to worthy causes globally since its inception in 2014. 

The Foundation aims to build on this success, with the ambitious goal of reaching £1m in donations to organisations in need in 2024, marking the 10th anniversary of The Foundation.

Propertymark Trust: A not-for-profit industry event has raised more than £2,300 for the Propertymark Trust, which supports member agents who have fallen on hard times.

The event was organised by industry figures John Paul, Paul Long and Jerry Lyon, who have been dubbed ‘the three amigos of estate agency.’
It was held earlier this month in Manchester and attracted agents from as far away as Ireland.

John Paul of Agency Consulting said: “We wanted to hold an event in the northwest as we felt the north of the country is overlooked when it comes to conferences. The day went brilliantly, and we’re already planning the next one.”

Speakers on the day included leading agents Michelle Gallagher and Megan Eighteen, and the compere was Chris Watkin.

Facebook expert Paul Long said: “We’re all delighted that we’ve been able to raise a significant sum for a brilliant charity. The speakers were fantastic, and we’ve received great feedback from agents who attended.”

Jerry Lyons of Ethical Agent Network added: “A huge thank you goes to all the sponsors who supported the event and those who took the time to attend. It was a very enjoyable day.”
Nathan Emerson of Propertymark said: “We’re very grateful to the Three Amigos for choosing the Trust as their chosen charity for this event – it will make a big difference to our work.”

Crest Nicholson: Housebuilder Crest Nicholson’s Chiltern colleagues are supporting Young Lives vs Cancer’s ‘Homes from Home’ campaign.

The homes provide free accommodation for families whose children are receiving cancer treatment at nearby hospitals.

The team from Crest Nicholson donated new washing machines earlier this month, including to Paul’s House in London. The donation will ensure families staying at the Homes, or at nearby hospitals, such as University College London and Great Ormond Street Hospitals in London, have access to much-needed laundry facilities and home comforts while their child is going through cancer treatment.

The donation is part of Crest Nicholson’s ongoing charity partnership with Young Lives vs Cancer. The Chiltern office has also been undertaking a number of additional fundraising and awareness activities for the organisation, including auctioning off a further eight washing machines to staff and taking part in a charity hike, raising more than £13,000 in the past month.

Charlie Joseph, sales and marketing director at Crest Nicholson Chiltern, said: “We are incredibly proud to continue to support Young Lives vs Cancer as part of our ongoing partnership. 

“It was great for the team to provide the Homes from Home with the donations, and to visit them to find out more about the impact the charity has on young people and their families at what is an incredibly difficult time in their lives. Our ongoing partnership demonstrates our commitment to the community and desire to deliver more than just homes, but to help provide support for those who need it most.”

Sarah Smith, partnerships fundraiser at Young Lives vs Cancer, added: “We’re so grateful to the Chiltern team at Crest Nicholson for the donation of these washing machines and for their continued support through their incredible fundraising for Young Lives vs Cancer. 

“Our Homes from Home are a haven for many families facing cancer, reducing the burden of travel to treatment, and keeping them together when it’s needed most. These new washing machines will help our Homes to continue to meet the needs of families, and the money raised makes such a difference to all the work that we do to support children and young people with cancer.”

Auction House: Auction House Scotland has partnered with the Glasgow Spirit of Christmas Charity to make sure every child in our community has a Christmas toy and dinner. 
Glasgow's Spirit of Christmas campaign is in its 10th year of supporting local children suffering hardship or living in poverty in Glasgow and surrounding regions.

Last year the community helped more than 19,000 children wake up to a gift and to feel included on Christmas Day.

The campaign aims to raise £1,500 for the children.

Mandia Cooper, managing director of Auction House Scotland, said: "No child should miss out on the magic of Christmas, and together with Glasgow Spirit of Christmas Charity, we're determined to make sure they have a gift to unwrap and a festive meal to enjoy.”
