Agency brands name new managing directors

Spicerhaart has appointed a former Connells area director to lead some of its most high-profile brands.

Daniel Ansell has been appointed as managing director of Spicerhaart’s Taurus Chapter.

He will be responsible for the Haybrook, Butters John Bee, Darlows and haart agency brand names.

The 36-year-old was previously with Connells for more than a decade, latterly as an area director responsible for 12 branches, but originally started his career as a trainee negotiator with Countrywide.

He said: “When I first started talking to Spicerhaart, meeting the people and learning about the culture, I knew if I was lucky enough to secure the role, I would take it with both hands.

“This is an incredible opportunity and I am looking forward to helping people realise their potential, both personally and for the business. My ambitions are to grow market share and profitability while ensuring our teams have a great environment to work in.

“I’ve overcome a few challenges in my life and I understand how difficult it can be for some people, but I’m here to help and support others and if I can help others to overcome things in life that seem impossible to deal with then I am happy.”

Ansell replaces Paul Vickerstaff, who left for Boomin in April.

Antony Lark, group managing director of Spicerhaart Group, added: “I am delighted that Daniel has joined the Spicerhaart team.

“During our meetings, his competitiveness and passion shone through and I am excited to see what lays ahead for his Chapter.”

Meanwhile, the Guild of Property Professionals has appointed its regional director Kris McLean to the newly created role of managing director.

He has been with The Guild for nine years, holding positions as a regional manager and regional director in the North.

Iain McKenzie, chief executive of The Guild, said: “Kris has been a huge asset to the organisation and Members and has delivered outstanding service to both. His appointment will help us in our mission to give Guild Members further commercial advantage, raise automated revenue and increase lead generation.
“Kris’ experience and expertise have been integral to our success within the northern region, Northern Ireland and Scotland, something we wish to replicate across the whole of the UK. He is well respected within The Guild team and is an amazing ambassador for the organisation to the sector.

“This appointment is well-deserved, and we wish him every success in his new position.”

McLean added: “I have spent my entire career within the property sector, initially as an agent and then as a business owner. I am eager to use the knowledge and expertise I have gained over the years to enhance the service offering to members and propel The Guild forward.

“I will be focused on continuing the high standards that our membership has come to expect while assisting both new and existing Guild members in maximising the opportunities in their marketplace. The Guild has a proven strategy and the power to cement our members' position as the agent of choice in each of their locations as part of the UK’s largest network of independent estate agents. I am looking forward to working with the very best independent agents in the UK.”
