Marcus Jones departs as Housing Minister

Marcus Jones has left the housing brief.

He was appointed as housing minister just two months ago in Boris Johnson’s reshuffle but appears to have been left out of the new Liz Truss ministerial team.

It is unclear who the new housing minister will be.

Jones posted on Twitter: “Sad to leave the Government after serving under three PMs during two spells covering five and 1/2 years.

“I will fully support our new PM and Government from the back benches, but will be vocal in taking up the issues that matter to my constituents in Nuneaton, Arley and Hartshill."

It follows the departure of Eddie Hughes from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities earlier today.

Truss loyalist Simon Clarke was named Housing Secretary earlier this week.

  • Proper Estate Agent

An this weeks housing minister is.... until next week.

  • Algarve Investor

And yet another one bites the dust. Getting silly now. Looked like DLUHC might stay relatively stable, but they're all going now. There will be no-one left to support Clarke at this rate. Farce.
