Regional agency appoints ex-Savills agent to lead Yorkshire expansion

Regional agent Dacre, Son & Hartley is expanding into York and has appointed experienced estate agent, Nick Udovicic, to head up the new operation.

He brings 27 years’ worth of estate agency experience to the role, having worked with Savills and Chestertons, heading up sales offices in prime central London.

Last year he moved to the north Yorkshire village of Huby, with his young family, to be closer to his son’s relatives.

Dacre, Son & Hartley now has 21 offices throughout North and West Yorkshire, and is currently operating from offices at the University of York campus.

The new office will sell homes, ranging from apartments through to large country homes, across a wide area spanning York city centre, the north York Moors, out to the Yorkshire coast and all the city’s surrounding towns and villages including the likes of Malton, Pickering and Helmsley.

Udovicic said: “This is an exciting opportunity to bring one of Yorkshire’s best-known estate agency firms and 200 years of heritage to York and launch a new office in a highly sought-after area. York offers a vast array of property styles and homes, including stunning city centre apartments, historic houses, traditional charm filled terraces, family homes, farms and country houses with land, in a market that’s largely driven by owner occupiers and long-term buyers.

“The market is currently experiencing a shortage of property for sale, against a backdrop of strong market fundamentals including soaring demand from both local buyers and those heading into the area from the south, who are seeking value and space.

“When this is combined with high levels of employment, exceptional schools and rail links, as well as low interest rates, even despite recent modest increases, it’s a fantastic time for anyone looking to sell or buy, and we’d urge anyone considering making a move to contact us now.”

Patrick McCutcheon, head of residential at Dacre, Son & Hartley, said: “As a longstanding company with offices in all Yorkshire’s prime areas, including Harrogate, Leeds, Ilkley, Wetherby, Ripon and Knaresborough, expanding into York has been a long-held ambition for us.

“Nick has a wealth of experience when it comes to launching and growing successful offices in popular and fast-moving property markets and he’s a very welcome addition to our team.
“We’re looking forward to unveiling our new city centre premises in the near future and continuing to build our market share throughout York, north Yorkshire and beyond.”
