Let’s start in Yorkshire where a new sales valuer has been appointed at Dacre, Son & Hartley’s Settle office.

Andrew Wilson, who grew up in Settle on his family’s farm, joins from another local estate agent and first started working in the industry eight years ago. He says: “I was keen to join Dacres which is a market leading firm with a great reputation across North and West Yorkshire. It’s a varied and busy role and the property market is extremely active at the moment.”

Still with Dacres and Yorkshire, Ben Hollings has joined leading as a sales valuer in Skipton.

Ben previously spent seven years working at Dacres elsewhere in the Aire Valley. He says: “I’ve had a long-held ambition to work in the Skipton area, so when this opportunity arose, I jumped at the chance.”

Let’s drop down to the Cotswolds where Knight Frank has announced that Alasdhair Lochrane has been appointed as an associate in Cirencester.

Alasdhair joins following seven years with Strutt & Parker where he worked in sales in Chelsea before joining Strutts’ National Country Department specialising in prime country properties across the west and south west.

Hybrid agency Hortons - which some years ago claimed it wanted to be the next Purplebricks - has announced Brendan May as training as growth director.

Adam Horton, Hortons’ chief executive, says: “Brendan’s experience within training and recruitment, and having a very successful career as an agent makes him perfectly placed to help expand our presence across the country. We’re building upon a strong foundation within our management team, which will enable substantial and sustained growth over the coming years.”

Hortons was established in 2016 in Leicester, and now covers parts of Oxfordshire and Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.

Finally this week, news that Spicerhaart - now a hybrid agency - has named Tyrone Matthews as the new Area Partner for haart in Sutton, while Benjamin Jobbins has taken on the role with haart in Bristol.

Tyrone, who has 16 years’ industry experience, was previously with Leaders in London. He says: “My priority is to build a team that has a strong presence within Sutton and who can provide expert advice, while also valuing customers and their stories.”

Benjamin has 19 years’ experience in agency, having worked previously for Purplebricks as well as some of the top corporate agencies in London. He says: “My home city of Bristol has a rich and diverse array of cultures and heritage, it’s one of the quickest developing cities in the UK. I’m excited to grow my team of agents in the city who live and breathe Bristol to their core.”

And still with Spicerhaart, the company has launched a new vocational development programme to help employees and career switchers gain formal qualifications.

Emma Barber, the agency’s head of learning and development, says: “In order to develop and build our employees’ careers further we have combined our cutting-edge technology with our passion for learning and development to launch our Spicerhaart Vocational Development Programme.

“We have grown our highly skilled Learning and Development team so they can deliver an industry-leading catalogue of courses whilst also working with an external qualification, Babington, provider to provide industry-specific qualifications.”
