Firm behind iamsold auctions enters private treaty sale sector

The firm behind iamsold, the leading operator in the controversial Modern Method of Auction arena, is entering the private treaty sales sector.

Iamproperty says it’s completed the first phase of its launch into the sector in the spring - it already has some regional agents using a new platform called movebutler.

Iamproperty says the platform has been designed to eliminate “common frustrations” with the private treaty process, digitising the process and “facilitating transactions end to end.”

It claims to offer agents a reduced administrative burden and opportunities for referral fee income from areas such as conveyancing and mortgages.

movebutler checks transactions are compliant via a range of activities including automatic title checks and what it calls Online Biometric Identity Verification.

“These thorough checks can prevent delays later on in the transaction, reducing the chance of fall-throughs. Priority information like this is then shared upfront with all parties in the transaction, speeding up conveyancing by removing a lot of duplication” says the firm.

Group managing director Ben Ridgway says: “Using our experience of working with over 3,000 agents, we’ve designed movebutler to improve the home moving experience for everyone involved in transactions, including estate agents, buyers, sellers and other parties such as solicitors.

“…Interest from both agents in our network and new agents has been strong. We’re really proud of the full-service solution we’ve created and what it can achieve for agents, freeing up more of their time to do the parts of their job they most enjoy.”

Agents named as using the first phase are Linley & Simpson, Pygott & Crone and DB Roberts.
