International Men’s Day wins support of leading agency group

In support of International Men’s Day - today - LSL will celebrate what it calls “the positive value men bring to the world” and, at the same time, raise awareness about mental well-being.

As part of its IMD celebrations, LSL staff are invited to a virtual panel session to hear Oliver Blake - managing director of Your Move and Reeds Rains - and regional managing director Ryan Oliver talk about their experiences.

In support of mental well-being - a key focus of IMD - there will also be a webinar when Dan Cross and Efrem Brynin, from Channel 4’s ‘SAS Who Dares Wins’ programme will talk about their past mental health issues.

Reminders will also go out to colleagues about the wide ranging resources available through LSL to support their own mental well-being; including a confidential Employee Assistance programme, available 24/7.

Helen Buck, executive director for estate agency at LSL, says: “One of the six pillars of International Men’s Day is to improve gender relations and promote gender equality not only for men but for women too and, in this light, the theme of the Day this year is to be ‘Better relations between men and women.’

“As a result, we’re organising events within LSL that aim to be thought-provoking and, above all, demonstrate our support of colleagues across the Group; whatever their personal circumstances may be.

“It comes on the back of the events we held for International Women’s Day back in March – which acknowledged the huge contribution that women make to business and society as a whole – and fully supports the aims of our new Inclusivity & Diversity Forum; ensuring everyone within LSL feels supported and valued.”

LSL will also be donating £2 for every person who attends the events it has organised, to Movember, the UK charity funding men’s health projects including mental health and suicide prevention, testicular cancer and prostate cancer.
