Agents Do Charity - it’s that Friday good works feeling…

Hello and welcome to the end of the week - an opportunity for you to catch up with charity news from across our industry.

Don’t miss the opportunity to let the industry know what you’re doing too; just email press@estateagenttoday.co.uk and we’ll do the same next week.

Cancer Research UK: Staff from Connells’ Hamptons branch have been at the heart of two events to support this great charity.

The Cancer Research UK Summer Run and a Hamptons Charity Golf Cup raised £9,378.00.

Runners from the agency included William Aspinall, senior lettings negotiator in Notting Hill; Ines Riou, residential sales consultant at Pimlico; Harriet Francis, senior head of lettings in Putney; Howard Bettridge, regional sales director; and Mark Wheeler,  prime country house sales director.

Lesley Cairns, managing director at the agency, comments: “The Cancer Research UK Summer Run and the Hamptons Charity Golf Cup bought members of the Hamptons team together all in aid of one fantastic cause. Cancer Research UK is a charity that sits close to our hearts and we will continue to dedicate our time and support and look forward to further fundraisers in the future.”

And Tom Dawson, the charity’s fundraising manager, adds: “It’s fantastic to see staff pulling together from across the company to make a difference. We know that one in two people born in the UK after 1960 will get cancer in their lifetime, Hamptons support brings us closer to our ambition of three in four people surviving their cancer for ten years or more by 2034. Your fundraising will save lives!”

Mind: O’Riordan Bond, an eight office independent agency in Northamptonshire, has raised almost £12,000 through 2021 for Mind Northamptonshire.

Sarah Hillierm chief executive of Northamptonshire Mind, says: “The team at O’Riordan Bond have been amazing all year and this is another fantastic effort from the staff and their customers.”

The agency, which opened itsfirst branch 26 years ago in Northampton, has setitself the goal of raising over £15,000 by the end of 2021.

Greatwood Community Primary School: Children from this North Yorkshire school are the latest to benefit from an agency’s programme of community support.

Dale Eddison’s High Street branch has linked up with to provide eye-catching new sports vests for its pupils.

Dale Eddison’s Skipton branch manager, Helen Carter, says: “We are always looking for ways to offer grass-roots support to charities and good causes across the community.

“As part of this, we’re committed to supporting local schools and are thrilled to be able to deliver a little joy to the children of Greatwood Community Primary School.”

Over and above this donation, the branch has turned to the artistic skills of the school children as part of a competition to design a ‘Welcome to your new home’ to give to all our house movers.

As well as seeing the winning design gracing the cover of these move-in cards, the winner will also win a Kindle.

Helen adds: “As an independent Yorkshire-based agency, we are proud of our strong roots and always welcome the opportunity of giving something back to the community whenever we can.

“This is why we have also re-launched our ‘Give Back Scheme’ as part of the Greatwood partnership. For every person that is associated with the school, who chooses to sell a property through us, we will donate £250 to school funds upon completion of the sale of their property.”
