Virtual Viewing Masterclass: top tips from agent who sold home this way

A Fine & Country agent has just sold a home based on a video viewing, and is now sharing tips with the industry on how to repeat his success.

Terry Robinson, the partner at Fine & Country’s Banbury and Buckingham office, sold a £450,000 three-bedroom cottage in the village of Tingewick on the border between Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

In a video interview with Sophie Davis, F&C’s social media and content manager, Terry explains how to arrange a video viewing - one of his preferred methods is simply getting the consent of vendor and buyer and linking them up through WhatsApp.

“Not a single vendor says they don’t want to do it” he comments.

And Terry suggests that lessons learned during lockdown may well bear fruit after some kind of normality returns to the market.

For example, he says those prospective buyers who have taken virtual viewings now but who are reluctant to commit to a purchase without an in-person visit can become a bank of potential purchasers to be contacted again after lockdown.

The video is just over 10 minutes long and packed with valuable hints for agents who may until now have been reluctant to embrace this kind of technology.

Our thanks to Fine & Country for making it available exclusively to Estate Agent Today.
