Property Jobs Today - the latest industry moves and appointments

The first signs of a seasonal slowdown are appearing according to some agents in touch with EAT, but there are still people switching jobs - and here is where you find the latest news each Monday.

Please let us know on press@estateagenttoday.co.uk about your firm’s new faces or big promotions and we’ll do our level best to feature them.

Let’s start this week with the UK arm of Keller Williams which has just appointed Andrew Benn as its chief operating officer and the first operating partner of the soon-to-be-launched market centre at Bromley in Kent.

Andrew’s been in the industry for three decades, most recently as lettings managing director at Spicerhaart.

Keller Williams UK runs from serviced offices it calls Market Centres - currently two in London and one in each of Leeds and Glasgow - which serve as bases for co-working office space, training and mentoring.

Another agency operating via the concept of agents using central hubs is the newly-launched Agent & Homes; it’s the creation of two hugely experienced central London agents, Rollo Miles and Bob Crowley.

Rollo is a former manager at Marsh & Parsons and Countrywide’s high-end John D Wood brand; meanwhile Crowley has also managed at Marsh & Parsons and John D Wood as well as at innovative PropTech company Nested.

"Like most agents who have worked on the high street in the past, we're of the opinion that a high street presence and shop front is no longer needed for a modern agency to be successful" explains Bob.

"This allows us to invest more money into marketing and supporting our agents … It also means we can save our clients money as we do not have to charge the high fees that high street operators do.”

JLL is a growing property consultancy covering residential, Build To Rent and commercial activities, and it’s strengthened its south coast team with a new appointment - Luke Mort, a senior surveyor.

He’s going to be based at Southampton and covering Hampshire, Dorset and East and West Sussex. Institutional landlords will be amongst his client base.

And finally this week, if you want to be a poacher-turned-gamekeeper, you can always apply to the National Trading Standards Estate Agency Team at Powys for its newly advertised position as Investigator.

The salary is up to £31,401 and the closing date is a week’s time - so get your compliance skates on.

That’s it for this week. We’ll be back next time with another jobs update, so until then…
