New industry recruitment firm offers phased-fees system

A new recruitment business for the property industry in general and agents in particular is offering a phased-fees system for clients - and a pledge to pay £10,000 if a new recruit  later moves to another company using the same recruitment firm.

Crux Careers - a company set up by experienced agency industry figures - is soft-launching today ahead of a formal launch on April 1, and operates what it believes to be a unique business model. 

A client commissions Crux to find candidates for a position; Crux then interviews those candidates on an appropriate ‘long-list’ and send to the client videos of these preliminary interviews and results of psychometric tests conducted on the candidates.

The client then decides whether to select some of the long-list for further interviews, which are conducted by the employer - not by Crux. 

If the client does not appoint anyone from the long-list, there is no charge from Crux: if one of the long-list is appointed and the person is found to be unsuitable within 90 days, again there is no charge. 

However, if the appointed person remains in place beyond 90 days the fees to Crux are phased over 12, 18 or 24 months. If the candidate leaves for any reason during the fees period, Crux ceases charging.

“The fees will be directly comparable to those in the agency industry now, but will simply be phased over a period selected by the client” explains a spokesman for Crux.  

The final part of the business model is that if an employee recruited through the Crux system is then appointed via Crux to another company, Crux will pay its original client £10,000 compensation.

Crux says it already has over 30 positions in agencies plus sales opportunities in supporting businesses that supply agencies with goods or services. 

“We have a unique candidate acquisition process using powerful algorithms that post vacancies directly on to social media being used by relevant audiences, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram” says the spokesman.  

The Crux Careers website will go live on April 1 but until then it is seeking interested employers who should make contact via email info@cruxcareers.com while applicants are asked to email apply@cruxcareers.com.
