Martin & Co wants its shareholders to agree that the firm’s name should be changes to The Property Franchise Group.
A note sent to shareholders yesterday said that the proposal “recognises the group's strategic success in developing from a single franchisor to a multi franchisor of residential sales and lettings agents and, therefore, more accurately reflects the main business of the group.”
The proposed change of name requires approval from shareholders via a special resolution; this will be put to an extraordinary general meeting of the company on March 16.
The board is unanimously voting for the proposal and is recommending all other shareholders to do the same.
Martin & Co now owns, amongst other firms, the EweMove hybrid franchise agency.
