This month, July, see the 150th anniversary of local estate agency William H Brown – one of the best known names in the estate agency industry.

The business has grown from its humble beginnings in 1890 offering an auctions and valuation service from a hut on a stackyard in Ruskington in Lincolnshire.

Now William H Brown has a network of over 110 branches throughout Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, East Anglia, the Midlands and the Homes Counties and is part of the Sequence Group of agents. It still offers an auctions service from its two auction centres – one in East Anglia and one in the north of England.

“This 125th anniversary signifies an important achievement for William H Brown, its employees and our customers,” says David Plumtree, group chief executive for estate agency at Sequence.

“It speaks volumes about the value of our expertise and experience in the property industry and the talent and good service at the heart of our company.”
