Who are you and what does it say on your business card?

I can’t remember the last time I had a business card but if I did have one it would say Commercial Director for Yopa.

What is Yopa and what does it do?


Founded in 2016, Yopa is the 7th largest estate agency brand in the UK based on instruction and sales volumes.

What services do you offer?

Yopa is a hybrid estate agent focusing purely on residential sales and we have over 150 franchises spread right across the UK supported by two large support centres in Watford and Hinckley. Our sister company, Scout Financial Services, was established in 2019, and has now submitted more than 2,000 mortgages since launch, equating to over £230m in lending.

How does Yopa differ from other hybrid/online estate agents?

Well, firstly we were just awarded ‘Best UK Hybrid estate agent’ at the Negotiator Awards last week which is a testament to not only the quality of the agents but also the fantastic support teams and our cutting edge technology. Yopa are also rated 4.7 on Trustpilot by over 15,000 customers. We offer a wider range of fee options for our customers including pay now or pay later options or if the customer prefers we will also work on a traditional ‘no sale, no fee’ basis.  

Are Yopa agents employed or self-employed?

Unlike some competitors, all Yopa agents are self-employed franchisees and many have built up their own local teams and we have no plans to change our successful and proven model.

Yopa currently covers c.75% of the UK and following recent significant investment we are looking to expand in 2022 and have just launched our new recruitment campaign. Many other self-employed hybrid estate agency models, particularly those from the USA, rely almost entirely on self-generated business however at Yopa our central marketing team supply c.95% of valuation leads directly to our franchisees.

What is your greatest achievement in your current role and what made it so special?

I only joined Yopa 5 months ago and with 39 year’s experience in the industry I have to say it has been a breath of fresh air working with such an agile and progressive thinking company full of great people.

What is the most satisfying part of your job?

Sharing my knowledge and experience with the team to help fuel the further growth of Yopa. I have also been able to make several key appointments to the senior team to help support the agents in the field

Country house or city apartment?

Definitely country house and ideally close to the coast.

Trendy roof terrace or traditional English garden?

Traditional English garden with a walled rose garden.

What is your favourite room in your home?

My music room where I keep my 11 guitars and far too much guitar gear.

Homes under the Hammer or Location, Location, Location?

I like both but my favourite property show is Million Dollar Listing New York.
