What is mio and what does it do?

mio’s vision is to empower agents to improve transaction times and communicate more effectively with their clients.  We provide a data driven sales progression platform that provides transparency across the chain.  It is integrated with an award-winning consumer app that gives buyers and sellers indications of the progress on each transaction in their chain and the ability to communicate with their agent via chat messaging.

What services do you offer and in what ways do you work with estate and letting agents?

mio is designed specifically for estate agents.

We only launched in May 2019 but mio is already proving vital to progressing sales more efficiently and, as the community of users grows, it will empower agents to improve transaction times.

mio is intuitive and well designed so it’s really simple to use. We can get an agent set up and ready to go in a matter of hours.  Our clients receive great support from our field- based account managers and our client service team, based at our HQ in Swindon.

What makes your product different and how does it benefit agents?

  • A shared view of the status of every transaction in chain, for the agent and the consumer.

  • A focus on sourcing and securely sharing validated data feeds which are then enhanced by manual updates from agents and consumers. As we source more data feeds, the need for manual updates will decrease.

  • mio has been developed by tmgroup who have operated at the heart of property transactions for over 20 years as search providers.  We understand the property sector and we understand what works in a transaction and what doesn’t. We’ve harnessed that expertise to work in collaboration with agents, larger and small, to develop mio.

What is your greatest achievement in your current role and what made it so special?

It’s not my achievement. It’s the achievement of the team who have been running mio for the last 18 months and it was the moment when I sat in front of two different agents both of whom told me that ‘mio was brilliant’. Moving into a new role as MD is made much easier when you’ve got a great product and a great team to work with.

What is the most satisfying part of your job?

Seeing the mio team succeed, especially when our customers recognise their hard work and when we win awards as was the case just two weeks ago when mio won App of the Year at the Negotiator Awards.

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing estate and letting agents at the moment?

Differentiating themselves from the competition to win new instructions in a very competitive market where there are few transactions to go after.

What is your property prediction for 2020?

A flurry of activity after the election, irrespective of who the victors are, followed by a slow down as we go back to the realities of dealing with Brexit.

Country house or city apartment?

Both

Trendy roof terrace or traditional English garden?

Traditional English garden on a trendy roof terrace?

Would you rather be a free-moving tenant or settled owner occupier?

Free moving owner occupier.

What is your favourite room in your home?

All of them but I don’t have many rooms. I’m an interior design junky and my house is full of quirky things that make me smile.
