Hamptons has snapped up Hertfordshire sales and lettings agency John Curtis, which has two offices in the county.

The acquisition brings Hamptons International's branch total to 85, almost all across London and the southern half of the UK.

The firm has been on an ambitious expansion programme for over 12 months now.

Last year Hamptons acquired north London and Home Counties estate agency Preston Bennett and then snapped up Humphreys Skitt & Co, a small agency operating in Blackheath and Greenwich, both in south east London.

Hamptons also bought 800 lettings in total - including 300 managed across Sussex, Wiltshire, Somerset, Kent and some other south of England areas - from Humberts during the spring of 2014.

Last month it announced that it was creating what it calls a succession of specialist branches handling land and new home sales and sitting alongside their existing offices.
