An undisclosed sum has been invested in the Bury-based online agency myownestateagent by a financial consultancy specialising in helping small and medium-sized enterprises.
Entrepreneur and business adviser Keith Robinson, managing director of Griffin Partners, has invested in the company in return for a minority stake. As part of the deal, he has become a non-executive director.
Simon Holland, owner of rental consultancy Jacob's Ladder, launched the website last year.
"There has been a big shift in the property sector towards cost-effective, online solutions such as 'for sale by owner', which presents a huge opportunity for MyOwnEstateAgent to capture a greater share of a growing market. There's great potential" says Robinson.
The site charges users a lifetime membership fee of £49; additional costs for vendors include £49 for a For Sale By Owner sign, £59 for a floorplan and £79 for an EPC.
