A sincere well done to Countrywide chain estate agents Bridgfords who have smashed their pledge to raise £20,000 for Manchester’s The Christie and the NSPCC over two years, with the team hitting that target after just 15 months.

Staff from Bridgfords’ 87 estate agency and lettings branches across the North-West and Yorkshire have been involved in the campaign, participating in various fundraising activities including charity balls, talent nights, a charity golf day, completing the Three Peaks challenge, a Manchester to Liverpool bike ride, a skydive, and a ‘56 miles in 24 hours’ hike.

The team, consisting of over 500 estate agency and lettings negotiators, managers, administrators and mortgage consultants, are currently on course to raise £40,000 by March next year.

All money raised will go to the NSPCC and Europe’s largest cancer centre, The Christie.

Vanessa Simmons, Bridgfords Prestbury branch manager, has been co-ordinating the fundraising campaign across the business, including raising in excess of £7,000 from the largest fundraising event yet, a summer ball held at Alderley Edge Cricket Club.

She said: “We hosted a similar charity ball in November last year and it was a huge success, with over £6,000 raised from the night. Last month’s event was even bigger and we’re thrilled that Virgin Money have agreed to help us with our fundraising activity.

“Both The Christie and NSPCC rely heavily on volunteers and fundraising to continue to provide the great services they offer, so we are thrilled to have smashed our fundraising target just over half way into our pledge.”

Mark Alcroft, managing director of Bridgfords, said: “The determination shown by teams from across the whole business has been absolutely phenomenal, and hundreds of colleagues have been eager to get involved in the campaign.

“Some teams have spent weeks and months training for events, and some overcame their biggest fear by jumping out of a plane to raise over £6,000 for the charities. Everyone has shown an exceptional amount of effort in not only participating in events, but supporting their colleagues, and I am extremely proud of their achievements.”

WELL DONE, Bridgfords! And keep it up - every penny counts!

Pity that none of your colleagues in industry have recognised the effort with a simple post...
