MAKING THE MOST OF THE MARKET – WITHOUT THE BURNOUT

Are you experiencing Estate Agent burnout?

As The Stamp Duty Holiday has begun to tail off, it didn’t bring the relaxation in the housing market that some may have expected. With the relief still in effect up to the first £250k of the house price, demand remains high in many areas across the UK. The benefit can be realised on the full asking price of a property – remaining in place until the end of September.

Outside of this, a new and fairly collective work/life shift has meant that moving home is at the top of many agendas – not surprising when tradesmen are booked through to summer next year, making extensions or other home improvements nearly impossible. With the news that there are prospective buyers taking to camping outside of agencies and pay-per-view viewings becoming a possibility, the lull in the housing market doesn’t look set to appear any time soon.

Whilst demand continues, administration remains at an all-time high for agents, and like every other industry many are feeling further strain from the ongoing ‘pingdemic’. leaving agencies short-staffed. Estate agents we surveyed were spending an average of 6 hours a week, outside of their usual working hours, on admin*. Now, coupled with staff in isolation and a booming market, the current reality could be far more. What agents don’t need right now is to be spending more time on admin than they need to be.

Initial data since the launch of iamproperty movebutler, has shown that we’ve been able to save agents 466 hours of admin time by digitising the onboarding for over 900 clients and reduce the time take from 30 minutes to under 1 minute**. We’ve seen a 95 per cent success rate using this system – where customers require no intervention. The 5 per cent of clients that required extra support were taken care of by our team of ‘movebutlers’ – our in-house team of onboarding specialists.

Whilst the current pace of the market is it is likely to remain for at least the rest of the year or until there is a shift with interest rates., addressing the admin burden on agents is crucial to mitigate burnout and ensure that agents are supported to make the most of the current market.

iamproperty’s movebutler platform is about more than digital onboarding, our next phase will see us make efficiencies across the whole journey. We’re proud to be supporting forward-thinking agents with a modern solution that helps them to do the best job they can for their clients, whilst giving them back their own time to do more of the things they enjoy in work and in life.
