Are the new breed of agent review sites friend or foe?

One of the most contentious issues in agency circles at the moment is that of the ‘Trip Advisor’-style review sites.

It is all very well the public having their say, but how can you be sure it really is the public and not one of your competitors having a pop at you?

What controls do these sites have over their contributors, and what can you do, as an agent, if you get a bad review?

Should agents embrace review sites as the new reality, or simply hope they will go away?

A session on the second morning of the Property Business Show examines all these issues and speakers promise not to dodge agents’ concerns – and suggestions. It takes place on Friday, April 20, with the event held at ExCel, London, offering a lively exhibition, a good range of debates and seminars, plus unrivalled networking opportunities. If you have questions that you would like raised at the session - even if you are not attending - please post them below. We'll make sure they are on the agenda, no matter how contentious.

Like other agents, i too would come along if I knew that a representative from allagents was going to be one of the speakers. Perhaps EAT can clarify who the speakers are.

Questions I would like to see being asked are:

    1. I really like the idea of the staff profiling. Would you consider working with the industry to help expand this into our very own self regulated licensing scheme?

    2. Would you consider allowing bodies like TPOS, NAEA and ARLA help to moderate it. I feel this would help agents accept it more.

    3. What are the long term plans for the business? Are you going to remain a review site or is it your intention to compete in the portal market with the likes of Rightmove?

Will the secretive 'Martin' of AllAgents make the long trip from Bonnie Scotland to participate....?
