The estate agents apprenticeship academy Bloom is launching government-funded NFoPP NVQs for people already working in estate agents’ and letting agents’ offices.

The move is on top of the apprenticeships scheme, also government-backed.

The candidates already working in property can be of any age and would be expected to complete the four units by way of self-study.

They would also be expected to complete a level 3 NVQ along with ‘function skill’ training in maths and English.

The Bloom assessors will visit the employee in the workplace to conduct the NVQ and assist with the learning material.

Taxpayers funds the training, assessor and training material with the cost of the actual exams being met by either the employer or the employee.

    Richard,

To get my NAEA technical award I had to study quite a lot. I had four exams on various topics, including the building structure and legal practices. Minimum pass grade was over 80%

as before Ray, what study did you do and what difficult exam did you take, none I bet but proud to brag you are a FNAEA no doubt.

and you shame yourself by condoning it

Why bother anyway? just buy a "qualification" from the NAEA and use initials after you name to say you are really qualifeid.

Job done, no work or study required. Be old enough and you can even be a fellow!

What a complete joke. With everything going on in the markets at the moment and the cuts etc etc, the govermant decide to give this BLOOM company money to train estate agents!!!!! WHAT. I agree with you Mr Angry the national newspapers need to know about this, I'm sending them the link. I would rather my money was spent on people who need real help to get into a job.

This really annoys me. What on earth gives the government the right to waste our hard earned money to sponsor this academy. I fully understand the virtue of apprenticeships and getting the youth of this country back/in to work, but an academy for estate agents, oh dear. I'm quite surprised the national press haven’t got hold of this. Whatever happened to the days when we trained our own staff? Well, actually, we still do, and on our own time and money as we see it as an investment in the future of our own business! I can’t for the life of me see what benefit this brings to anyone other than those being employed (by us taxpayers!) to run the academy. I'd be very interested to see how well trained and versed in estate agency these Academy Graduates are. Without wanting to rattle too many cages, I suspect that those running these academies fall under the adage "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach"!

Rebel agree with you......also I wonder why EAT has linked it to a job site? they must have a connection in some way then? somebody is making money out of my taxes again.....surely we have enough training companies in the industry without lining the pockets of this jobs website.

Why can't the sodding Government stop blowing my taxes & stay out of the free market FFS?

    They. just. cannot. stop. themselves.

...why is EAT using a link to a job portal advertising Bloom rather than a direct link to Bloom's website? Is it that they are owned by one and the same?
