Rightmove’s breakfast seminar series will reach a landmark this morning when the 150th seminar is delivered to member agents at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester.

By the time you are reading this, the 140 attendees will probably have tucked into their 8am bacon rolls with ketchup (brown sauce is offered but rarely taken) and heard Miles Shipside’s traditional opening joke, which is usually to do with local football teams.

As this is Manchester, we hope he was careful.

The Rightmove seminar series has now visited 103 locations around the country from Edinburgh to Truro.

The breakfast seminars first hit the road in November 2008, and since then have attracted audiences of around 9,500.

Shipside said: “Rightmove seminars are a key part of how we work closely with agents and developers in order to help them gain a competitive edge in their local market and get the very best from their Rightmove membership.

“At each seminar we present the latest insights from our research with vendors, landlords, buyers and tenants in the local area, and discuss examples of best practice in terms of online marketing as well as some wider issues that can help members meet their customers’ expectations.

“Our job is to present our extensive research and encourage debate and discussion from those in the room around the findings and what they might mean for them.”

Seminar content is regularly reviewed in the light of feedback from attendees and changing trends.

Shipside adds: “It’s great to get out there and meet and talk to Rightmove members up and down the country on a regular basis.

“The conversations we have with agents and developers about their local market are both essential and fascinating for us, and in return we hope we can demonstrate that Rightmove can play a valuable role in helping them stand out.”

I have had my rate increase through.
Up from £400 pcm (sales & lettings) to £540pcm.

I have given them 3 months notice.

I have now received tons of condescending emails and examples of how stupid I would be for leaving them. They have not even tried to address one of the issues I have with them.

Now, will my competitors follow me?

Is if it wasn't bad enough that they had wasted money on sending out personalised calendars several weeks ago, I go get another one in the post yesterday.

Still im Sure there are a few agents out their that have plonked it on their desk promoting their brand even further along with their QR readers in the window.

"we can demonstrate that Rightmove can play a valuable role in helping them stand out.”

Except if you help everybody to stand out, then no-one stands out. Then you can conjure up some new "extras" to help everyone "stand out", but then again no -one stands out cos everybodies doing it...

Then you can come up with some new "extras" etc. etc. etc
